5 VALENTINE RESTAURANTS ON THE GOLD COAST
While many deem February 14 a day of corporate conspiracy, grossly over-the-top displays of affection and just all-round evil, there are still some of us out there who look forward to this, the international day of lurrrve. Here are some ways to kick it a little cooler this Valentine’s Day.
There are plenty of fab places to take your date this Valentine’s Day, but if you really want to spoil her or him, why not pick up the phone and make a booking at one of these gems.
RICK SHORES
This Valentine’s, Rick Shoresis hosting a succulent seven-course banquet dinner ($90 pp) which includes mind-blowingly flavoursome dishes for sharing, plus a glass of Perrier Jouet champagne, and a special V-Day dessert. (Hot tip: that golden hour just before sunset is extra magical.) Is this one of the best restaurants on the Gold Coast? We think so!

SPARROW EATING HOUSE
We’re loving the eatery’s crisp lines and white subway tiles, balanced with bursts of colour through funky geometric light fittings, furnishings, and wall art. Book in for Valentine’s Day lunch or dinner where they’re offering up a $55 pp banquet. Our tip: start with the tempura zucchini flowers and a caramel salted espresso martini. Wherever you go from there, you really can’t go wrong.

Prefer a lunch date? They’ll be serving their delish al la carte menu or usual banquet. Bookings are essential.

GEMELLI ITALIAN
The way to every heart is through the stomach, so a date night at Gemelli Italian is guaranteed to ensure your lover rolls out of there sufficiently satisfied and not asking to stop at Maccas on the way home. On February 14, Gemelli is hosting a four-course Italian feast for $75 pp including a complimentary glass of Prosecco. Details are loose, but you know traditional wood-fired pizzas, slurpable pastas (Lady and the Tramp re-enactment, perhaps?), and Nutella-infused desserts are inevitable.
